Anka High Chair

Anka High Chair - NaturalHigh chairs are a tough call, especially when you live in a small space and will have to look at it all the time, you want to be sure it’s something fairly aesthetically pleasing.   My requirements for a high chair were as follows:

* Must have t-bar between legs.

* Removable tray.

* Made of non-BPA, recyclable non-toxic materials.

* Must have safety belt.

* Must be easy to clean with removable cushion I can launder.

* Must be height of dining table, so she can eat with us and we can pull it up to the table.

* Must grow with baby. I want to be able to buy one high chair that I can use as a booster seat as she grows.  The t-bar, removable tray and adjustable footrest ensure that.

* Can move around the room easily. This design means I can move the chair without scratching our nice wood floors!

* Is foldable to hide away if we so desire.

The Anka chair met all the requirements, plus, it’s really nice to look at! We also had an issue with a missing bolt and found the customer service people at Scandinavian Child to be helpful, friendly and efficient!

Electronic Baby Scale

If your wife is breastfeeding, and you are not sure that your baby is getting enough milk – this will really help out. Now, lactation consultants and pediatricians will not recommend it. In fact, they will advise against it (they are worried you will get obsessed with weighing your baby). We found that it was a life saver and really helped us worry less. It probably saved a few trips to the Dr.

Of course, you do not have to be breastfeeding to find this scale useful. Your baby will need to hit certain weight milestones in order for you to get a passing grade as a parent (i am of course joking – but most parents feel like that). And then there is the times when your baby is sick and not eating as usual. Bottom line – the more information I have, the better I feel. And the scale is yet another monitoring device to give me a better picture of my baby’s health and well-being.

Make sure you get a scale that is accurate to at least half an ounce. Diapersand other clothing make a difference so be sure to always weigh your baby without closes or weigh the clothes separately. The scale in the picture zeros-out when turned on, if your scale does not, make sure to calibrate before placing your baby on.

As our little baby is growing the scale has also turned into a toy (crawling to the scale and pressing the buttons) and her favorite chair … so maybe that will help justify the expense.
